Preparing for the SP-LV Examination

This course reviews all subject areas from the NEC applicable to the SP-LV (special low voltage test) examination, as well as administrative requirements  of the NCBEEC. The course concentrates on the NEC requirements for the installation of low-voltage and power-limited circuits for security and fire alarm systems, including video surveillance systems using coaxial cable. Major emphasis is placed on Article 725 and article 760 Installation Methods. Students should have a better understanding of installation    and wiring methods of these systems, including other requirments from related NEC articles. This course covers NEC, in great detail and is very fast-paced.     It will help people who need to pass the examination, as well as new and old employees you have in your company.  This is and 8-hour course, approved by   tne NC Electrical Board only.

Advanced Burglar Alarm Technician (ABAT)

Participants will learn how to properly wire and troubleshoot speakers and siren drivers, determine the minimun size power supply needed for a system to operate for a specified number of hours without primary power, choose the number, location and type of detection devices to meet customer's needs, list the completion tests that must be performed to ensure porper system operation, identify the factors that must be considered before selecting a panel, troubleshoot a system that has failed to communicate and describe the purpose and operation of each programmable option in the SIA Control Panel Standard. This Course will end with the administration of a two-hour Advance Burglar Alarm Technician examination.
